Artist Julie A. Urtz
With over 20 years experience, Art Blue can help bring your
imagined world into reality.
I starting out with pencils at the age of nine, and drawing
portraits was my favorite pastime; mainly of my favorite
bands and celebs. I went into the Air Force at age 17 and soon
began my career as a photographer. After being a
photographer for a number of years, I went to culinary school
to express my creativity in the kitchen.
While only 'designing' food for a couple of years, I decided I
was happier with a camera and brushes in my hand, so I began
Art Blue.
With murals under my belt, oil paintings in the works, and
photography ever going, I continue to display my work in
galleries, restaurants, and the occasional craft show.
As an Artist in Residence in conjunction with Arts In
Education, I have worked with entire 4th grade classes for a
week at a time. For the past four years, I have developed a
historic murals that students will be able to enjoy for years to
come. In October of 2008, I was able to create a mural with
students that depicts the local town's history in Patterson, NY
and am proud to say that it now graces the lobby upon
entering the school. I look forward to working with students of
all ages and developing historic murals on a continuing basis.
I am currently expanding my design knowledge while going to
school for web design and management, but still have the
ever-present camera around my neck. I look
forward to
creating something great just for you sometime soon!
Julie
